Small Groups

The Vision for Small Groups at Hope Community Church is: 

We believe each of these core points are critical to a healthy small group, and should be balanced over the life of a small group. 

 

Here are some highlights for this year. Through the connections in our small groups, we want to focus on accountability this year. We are challenging every small group member to pair up with someone else in an accountability relationship. Accountability is where the rubber meets the road for Christian growth- where individuals can spur one another on toward love and good deeds, and really affect spiritual change in each others’ lives. 

 

Another focus this year will be on helping each other discover our spiritual gifts and develop new small group leaders. We believe that leaders should come from within small groups. Do you have any gifts of leadership? Do you have a heart to help others grow? Perhaps you’ll find out the answers to these questions this year!

 

Probably the most significant change this new vision will entail is theoutward focus of groups. Some of the last words Jesus said to his disciples (his small group) were the words of the Great Commission. Small groups can and should grow to enfold others inside and outside of God’s Kingdom.
