Serving God wholeheartedly means bringing your full self to every act of service, not just the visible or comfortable ones. Colossians 3:23-24 makes it clear that whatever we do should be done with all our heart, as working for the Lord. We are not ultimately serving the people in front of us. We are serving Christ, who served us perfectly and completely. Growth rarely happens in comfortable places. It happens when ordinary people make a decision and follow it with action. We were created in Christ Jesus to do good works that God prepared in advance for us. The gap between who we are and who God is calling us to be is closed one decision at a time.
