Heidi Grab grew up in Greece, a suburb of Rochester, NY. After high school, she attended classes to become a Fashion Designer. She moved to Pennsylvania the day after her nineteenth birthday. Lancaster was a bit of a cultural change for her after living near a larger city and Heidi soon discovered that LACC didn’t offer anything close to her degree. It was while living in Lancaster that she met her husband, Matthew Grab, through a blind date. They have been married now for 25 years!
Heidi has 6 children. Her oldest just got married. Heidi homeschools her 4 youngest kids and greatly enjoys the time that she has with them since time is precious. She says, “Kids grow up so quickly and become their own person. They leave home to pursue who the Lord calls them to be. My time with them is very short. The Lord blessed me with these children to raise for Him and when they become adults, I have to turn them back over to Him; they are His.”
Heidi’s theme verse for life is found in Hebrews 12: 1-2a. “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame.”
Heidi resides in Elizabethtown with her husband Matthew and 5 of her children and two labs. She enjoys gardening, planting flamingos, going for walks, biking and kayaking. Heidi also loves to bake and thoroughly enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
