Operation Christmas Child (OCC) brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world at Christmas time through gift-filled shoeboxes and the good news of God’s love.
We collect shoeboxes from mid-October to the end of November each year.
Hope partners with Samaritan’s Purse to provide an opportunity for people of all ages to be involved in a simple, hands-on mission project while focusing on the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus Christ. Shoe boxes are packed with toys, personal hygiene items and small articles of clothing such as gloves, scarves, hats and socks, and then shipped to boys and girls around the world.
Included in each box is a copy of the Gospel written in the native language of the destination country, and an invitation to attend a discipleship course called “The Greatest Journey” where children learn more about what it means to be a Christian.
Many children come to know the Lord through this program.
