Father's Day can be difficult for those who've experienced bad dads like Laban in Genesis 31, who deceived, cheated, and manipulated his son-in-law Jacob while treating his daughters as property. The Bible shows us that bad fathers have existed throughout history, and acknowledging this painful truth is the first step toward healing. Sometimes establishing distance and clear boundaries is necessary, while also examining our own responses. Even amid these painful relationships, we can trust our good heavenly Father who protects, blesses, and works behind the scenes when earthly fathers fail us.
