Betrayal destroys the foundation of trust. It creates an instant break or tearing of a relationship and cuts deeply. It can be one of the most devastating forms of pain that a person experiences and might make one want to give up and not go on. Betrayal can feel worse than physical pain. Everything breaks in a world that is continuously breaking down, including our relationships, but that doesn’t mean we have to be defeated by the brokenness. In Psalm 55, King David describes the process of taking our intense pain of betrayal to the Lord for complete healing.
