Rest For Restless Times

Most of us are running on empty, caught in a cycle of always having one more thing to do. But exhaustion is not just a scheduling problem. It is a spiritual one. God does not merely suggest that we rest. He commands it, and He modeled it Himself after the work of creation. The Sabbath is not a burden or a restriction. It is a gift from a God who knows exactly what we need. If we never stop, we will eventually deplete ourselves in ways that are deeply harmful. True rest, practiced regularly, is an act of obedience and trust in the God who made us.
