Jesus declared 'I am the light of the world,' and that claim changes everything. In John 8, He makes four powerful proclamations: He proclaims truth, He establishes Scripture as the standard for what is true, He reveals why He came, and He offers hope through His death and resurrection. The Pharisees pushed back at every turn, yet Jesus responded with patience and clarity, pointing them to the Father. He warned that dying in sin, eternally separated from God, is the worst possible outcome for anyone who rejects Him. The cross is the moment when everything becomes clear, and it is the source of our greatest hope. We are called to walk in that light and point others toward it.
