In John 10, the religious leaders demanded that Jesus tell them plainly whether He was the Christ. Jesus pointed them back to what He had already said and done, making clear that the evidence was never missing. He declared Himself one with the Father in essence and purpose, and affirmed that no one could snatch His followers from His hand. The religious leaders responded with hostility, attempting to stone Him and then arrest Him. Yet across the Jordan, many people heard the testimony of John the Baptist alongside everything Jesus had said and done, and they believed. We can trust Jesus today for the same reasons they did: His words, His works, and the faithful witnesses who recorded the truth for us.
