In Search Of The Devoted One

May 23, 2022

Multitudes of people followed Jesus as he traveled and ministered throughout the land. His following grew daily as He made people’s lives better everywhere He went. Jesus invites each of us into something more than just traveling with Him. He invites us to enter into a deep and intimate relationship with Him but also advises us to count the costs because there are conditions to true discipleship. One’s loyalty to Jesus must come before his loyalty to his family or even to life itself. What do you love? What have you devoted yourself to? What do you deeply value, so much that you build everything around it?

In Search of The Hurt One

May 16, 2022

We are living in a world that needs more compassion; the kind of compassion that Jesus showed to those hurting and suffering all around him. Compassion literally means “to suffer together.” It’s the feeling that arises when you are confronted with another’s suffering and feel motivated to relieve that suffering. Jesus demonstrated compassion repeatedly. Through God’s leading, we also can make a difference in the lives of people who are hurting physically, and ultimately for eternity.

In Search of The Sinful One

May 8, 2022

We are learning about the heart of God and examining what our heart ought to be toward others and how we should behave as God invites us into the practice of Searching for One. The Bible uses the word Hamartōlós to describe the life this woman was living. This word has a derogatory nuance and is used for those living in conscious opposition to God’s law or in distinction from respectable people. Most likely she lived as a prostitute and probably never knew love, never experienced genuine care, never was accepted. She knew what it was to be despised, rejected, ridiculed and judged. As she knelt at the feet Jesus weeping, this might have been the first time she was treated with kindness, acceptance, and love. Like Simon the Pharisee, we often judge and condemn others for their sin. We think to ourselves that another is wrong or bad and may walk right on by because that person doesn’t meet our standard. God is calling us to see people the way Jesus sees people.

In Search of The Sick One

May 1, 2022

Most people live out their life knowing something is not quite right and trying different things to fix it. Yet they never figure out what the real problem is. People who are are spiritually sick often try to fix the problem themselves, but only make it worse. Each person must come to recognize that they are spiritually sick and need help. Have you looked closely at your own life and noticed that things are not quite right? Reflection, reviewing, and opening your heart before the the Lord and asking him to assess what needs removed, cut out or what needs stitched up and fixed is eternally important.

In Search Of The Lost One

April 25, 2022

The human will is the ability to act or refrain from doing something. Will is the core of who and what we are as individuals; it is the executive center of the human self. Your will and your choices make you into who you are. Because you have a will, you can chose to move toward God or away from him. Most people do not grasp that the issues we have in life are a direct result of how we exercise our will. When people choose to align their will with God’s will, they experience fullness in life. When people choose to align their will with their own fleshly will, they experience problems. Might you experience a better life if you align your will with God’s will?

INTERNALLY STRONG / EXTERNALLY FOCUSED

When we say Internally Strong this is what we mean:
Moving closer to Jesus  which happens as we seek to: know Him and His Word, be transformed into His likeness, do what we are made by Him to do and connect with others in meaningful relationships in the way He designed us.

When we say Externally Focused this is what we mean:
Engaging others around us, locally, regionally and globally in personal, small group and corporate action to bring the whole Gospel to the whole person.
